No, this isn't about Cairdeas or Cairdeans from days of yore. It is about the beginnings of a gaming community on the internet before there was an internet.

Now most of you kids weren't into on-line gaming back in the early 1970's, but that's when I got my start. There was a system that was supposed to be about computer delivered education, but those of us in the know knew it was all about the games! lol Not sure if anyone is familar with the name PLATO or if any of you folks out in California know about the Computer History Museum ... but this is a 2-day conference that sounds neat. Wish we could be there. Ah well, here's a linky if anyone is interested.

Very interesting Bubbie. i don't remember PLATO, but it might have been slightly before my time. It might be interesting, and really geeky, to check this out, since it is just about an couple of hours away.

I'd love to get to this museum someday. The "history of home computing" exhibit at the Smithsonian in Washington DC is fascinating. They displayed all the pieces on tall stacks of Byte magazines .. wish we knew what they were planning, we could have made a big donation! *laugh*
